Promoting Body

Bharatesh Education Trust (BET) is a charitable trust established in the year 1962, registered under the Bombay Public Trust Act 1950 bearing Registration No. E250. It has been in existence for over 62 years. The trust has the prime objective of catering to the educational needs of society. BET started in 1962 with the blessings of His Holiness Param Pujya Acharya Shri. 108 Samantbhadra Muni Maharaj, by a group of socially conscious young entrepreneurs, who made the decision to cater to the rising need for education to bring meaningful change in society. This led to the birth of the D. Y. Chougule Bharatesh High School. It began humbly by offering education to the socially and economically weaker section students in the temporary rented premises of Manickbag Digambar Jain Boarding and then shifted to its own campus near Fort Belagavi, presently named as Arihantgiri campus.

BET today runs 20 educational institutions offering education from Nursery level to Post Graduation and Doctorate levels. At present, more than 8000 students are studying and about 600 full-time faculty members are working. Built on this inspiring legacy, today BET stands proud as a leading Educational Organization offering multiple disciplines across multiple campuses. What started as an institute in a small building has now grown manifold to having 40 acres of land and 4 lakh square feet of built-up area spread over three campuses including Chandragiri at Basavan Kudachi and Vindhyagiri at Halaga, affluent suburban areas of the city of Belagavi. Thanks to the management and philanthropists who have contributed to creating a Rs. 3 Crores scholarship corpus to encourage and support the meritorious and needy students.

Our founder Chairman Late Shri. Komalanna Doddanavar was a visionary and inspiring leader who devoted all his time and energy to the robust development of Bharatesh Education Trust. It was his relentless pursuit that enabled Bharatesh to set up Polytechnic, ITI, Homoeopathic Medical College, BBA, BCA, MBA, Nursing College, and Schools during his tenure of 46 years. He dreamed of a Bharatesh that would impart value-based education in all fields that would produce individuals capable of contributing positively to society.
